Hola amigos! It is 2:44 pm here in Valencia (7:44am in the USA). I am finally back at my host family’s house to take a nap for siesta time (the time between 2pm and 4pm when everyone naps)!
I had a placement test this morning at my university, and I got placed at an advanced level! So far, I am the only American in the university. There are eight people in my class, and they include students studying Spanish from Germany, Switzerland, Taiwan, Japan, and Finland. I will be taking four hours of classes a day with two separate professors, and those professors will change weekly. My professors do not speak English, nor do my classmates!
After classes today, I walked around frantically trying to find a phone charger (the outlets here are different than the US) and then to find a Banco de Cambiar (a money exchange bank) to exchange my US dollars for Euros. No one speaks English, so I’m happy I paid attention in class over two years ago in Spanish 1 when we learned direction words (like right and left).
I somehow made it back without a map to the house, and I will now nap until the university
takes me on a tour of Valencia and a “tapa” run tonight!
Mis dios Zack 😂 and thank you everyone! I couldn’t do it without your support ❤️

Have the time of your life!
